At Kingswood College, we remain committed to the safety and wellbeing of every student. This update highlights Child Safe Standard 9, which outlines how schools must identify and mitigate risks of child abuse and harm in both physical and online environments, while upholding students’ rights to privacy, access to information, social connection and learning opportunities.
Staff are trained to recognise and reduce risks in all environments, whether in classrooms, playgrounds, excursions, or digital spaces, without compromising the positive experiences and development opportunities that are vital for young people. Our online environments are governed by the College’s Code of Conduct and Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, which set clear expectations for respectful, safe and appropriate behaviour. We endeavour to support students and families in understanding risks such as cyberbullying, online grooming and sexting, and we encourage open communication when concerns arise. Before an activity takes place off campus, a risk assessment is conducted. These plans are regularly reviewed and adapted, taking into account feedback from staff, students and the broader community, to ensure they remain responsive and effective in creating safe spaces.
When engaging third-party providers or hiring external facilities, the College ensures that these organisations meet our child safety expectations. Contracts and procurement processes include provisions for compliance with our policies and the ability to take action if standards are not upheld. Maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all children and young people is a shared responsibility. If you would like more information about our risk management practices or resources on online safety, please contact us..
Together, we are working to ensure every child at Kingswood College feels safe and supported.
At Kingswood College we proudly work to fulfil our vision to embolden hearts and inspire minds in a nurturing environment, on land that holds deep cultural significance to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge and honour their Elders, past and present, and extend our respect to all First Nations people. Whenever we gather, and wherever we gather, we extend respect and dignity to the first inhabitants of our country and acknowledge the truth about the country on which our school has stood and now stands.
