As we approach the conclusion of Term 1, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the experiences that have shaped the start of our school year. At Kingswood College, our vision is to embolden hearts and inspire minds, and this term we have celebrated our core values of excellence, courage, perseverance, kindness, and respect in every way.
From the very first day, as we welcomed our staff and students, the energy and enthusiasm were palpable. Our Whole College Welcome to Country and Founders Day & Lunar New Year Assembly set a poignant tone for the year, celebrating our rich history and diverse community. The Secondary House Swimming Carnival was a thrilling display of team spirit and determination, while the Scholars Assembly recognised the academic excellence of a group of our students. Leadership and creativity shone brightly during the Principal’s Art Award Assembly and the Junior School Leaders Induction Assembly, highlighting the incredible talents and dedication within our College.
Beyond the classroom, our camps provided opportunities for adventure and personal growth. Students in Years 8, 9, and 10 embraced the challenge of their outdoor experiences, developing resilience and deepening friendships.
Our International Women’s Day Dinner and Assembly reminded us of the importance of inclusivity and empowerment, reinforcing the values that guide us. Our Strong Connections were in full force with events like Kinder and Pre-Prep Grandparents Days, Parent Twilight Drinks, and the Year 7 Parent Drinks. These gatherings strengthen the bonds between home and school, celebrating a sense of belonging that is at the heart of Kingswood College.
Sporting and academic achievements continued to shine, with the EISM Div 1 Swimming Carnival showcasing our students’ athleticism and determination. Meanwhile, our commitment to sharing student progress was evident in our Parent Teacher Interviews and NAPLAN assessments, ensuring that every student is supported in their learning journey. As the term drew to a close, Harmony Day and the Food Drive/Colour Run provided an opportunity to celebrate diversity and generosity, reminding us of the importance of kindness and community. The Easter Service was a fitting way to conclude the term, bringing us together in reflection and gratitude.
To our students, staff, and families—thank you for your commitment, enthusiasm, and support throughout this action-packed term. Your efforts and engagement make Kingswood College the extraordinary place that it is.
At Kingswood College we proudly work to fulfil our vision to embolden hearts and inspire minds in a nurturing environment, on land that holds deep cultural significance to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Whenever we gather, and wherever we gather, we extend respect and dignity to the first inhabitants of our country and acknowledge the truth about the country on which our school has stood and now stands.
