At Kingswood College, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people are paramount.

Child Safe Standard 2 requires organisations to actively champion and model child safety at all levels, embedding it in values, policies, and daily practices.

Kingswood College has made a public commitment to child safety, ensuring that it is not just a statement, but a guiding principle reflected in governance, policies, and staff conduct. We set clear expectations, ensuring all staff, volunteers, and students understand their role in creating a secure and supportive environment. Regular discussions, training sessions, and reminders reinforce this dedication. Strong governance arrangements support the implementation of the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy. Our Leadership Team regularly review and discusses child safety, focusing on risk assessments, prevention strategies, and reporting mechanisms.

A clear Code of Conduct outlines behavioural expectations for staff, parents and volunteers, with effective communication and monitoring to ensure compliance. Accountability is actively promoted, ensuring all community members uphold their responsibilities.

Risk management is integral to maintaining a safe environment. Proactive identification, prevention, and mitigation of risks are prioritised through regular assessments, training, and clear reporting pathways. Staff and volunteers understand their obligations regarding information sharing and record keeping, ensuring accurate documentation and transparent communication for a strong protective environment.

Child safety is an ongoing responsibility requiring vigilance, collaboration, and a strong ethical foundation. Kingswood College remains committed to fostering a culture where every member of the community is empowered to contribute to a safe and supportive environment.
