Scholarship at Kingswood College
At Kingswood College, we proudly offer a diverse range of scholarships for students who demonstrate exceptional talent, creativity, academic achievement, and leadership potential.
Scholarship applications for entry to Year 3 - Year 11 in 2028 are now open.
There are also a limited number of scholarships available for Year 3 - Year 11 2027.
Applications close Wednesday 2 September.
Applications for the 2027 Choral, Instrumental, Visual Arts and Wyvern Young Women Scholarships may be considered prior to the closing date. Early applications are encouraged.
Academic Scholarship
For students in Years 3 – 11 2027 and in Year 4 - 11 2028
Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of the academic performance of the applicant in the scholarship examination, to be held on 12 September 2026.
- Applicants are also assessed on their submitted portfolio.
- Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by the Principal.
As part of the application process applicants must upload the following documents.
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate
- Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency (if the applicant or the applicant’s parents were not born in Australia)
- A copy of the student’s two most recent school reports
- A copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN results (if applicable)
- Copies of any awards for academic achievement.
These scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion and offer a part tuition fee remission for the duration of the student’s education.
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Applicants must be a current Year 2 – 10 student for 2027 entry or a current Year 3 - 9 student for 2028 entry.
- Applications open to new and current Kingswood College students.

The College does not provide the scholarship examination results to applicants/parents.

Choral Scholarship
For students in Years 5 - 11 in 2027 and 2028.
Choral scholarships are designed for students who have significant experience singing in choirs, either within their current schools or externally. Students should possess experience of singing in high-level performance choirs and demonstrate:
- commitment to and enthusiasm for choral performance;
- an understanding of the choral rehearsal process;
- knowledge of appropriate choral technique; and
- established sight-reading skills.
Applicants for this scholarship will be asked to attend an audition which will involve:
- performing their respective part of two choral works, accompanied by a recording of a full choir singing the chosen work.
- demonstrating their sight-reading capacity
- participating in a short interview.
Successful applicants will be required to participate fully in the College's Choral Program, as well as adopting leadership positions within the Kingswood choirs when requested.
Choral scholarships are awarded on the basis of an applicant’s submitted portfolio, an audition and interview. Applicants will be provided with their audition time and must be able to attend the audition as scheduled.

These scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion and offer a part tuition fee remission for the duration of the student’s secondary education.
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Applicants must be a current Year 4 – 10 student for entry in 2027 and a current Year 3 - 9 student for entry in 2028.
- Applications are open to new and current Kingswood College students.

Instrumental Scholarship
For students in Years 5 - 11 in 2027 and 2028.
Instrumental scholarships are awarded on the basis of an applicant’s audition and interview.
Minimum AMEB level for eligibility:
- Brass – AMEB Grade 3
- Percussion – AMEB Grade 4 (or equivalent)
- Piano – AMEB Grade 5
- Strings (including guitar and harp) – AMEB Grade 5
- Woodwind – AMEB Grade 3 (or equivalent)
Applicants are also assessed on their submitted portfolio.
These scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion and offer a part tuition fee remission for the duration of the student’s secondary education.
As part of the application process applicants must upload the following documents.
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate
- Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency (if the applicant or the applicant’s parents were not born in Australia)
- A copy of the student’s two most recent school reports
- A copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN results
- Copies of AMEB exam results
- Copies of any awards for instrumental achievement
Applicants are required to attend an audition Applicants will be provided with their audition time and must be available to attend the audition as scheduled.
Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their audition. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the Principal.
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Applicants must be a current Year 4 – 10 student for entry in 2027 or a current Year 3 - 9 student for entry in 2028.
- Applications are open to new and current Kingswood College students.

Visual Arts Scholarship
For students in Years 5 - 11 in 2027 and 2028.
Visual Arts Scholarships are designed for students who have strong skills in the Visual Arts and a desire to lead and inspire others in this area.
As part of the application process applicants must upload the following documents.
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate;
- Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency (if the applicant or the applicant’s parents were not born in Australia)
- A copy of the student’s two most recent school report
- A copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN results
Applicants for Visual Arts Scholarships are required to attend an interview to present their portfolio. Applicants will be provided with their folio interview time and must be available to attend the folio interview as scheduled.
A folio of work can include:
- Art created during school years
- Drawing, painting and sculptural artwork produced at home
- Sketchbooks of student illustrations
- Photographs of student’s artwork
- Other creative visual solutions
These scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion and offer a part tuition fee remission for the duration of the student’s secondary education.
Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their folio interview. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the Principal.
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Applicants must be a current Year 4 – 10 student for entry in 2027 or a current Year 3 - 9 student for entry in 2028.

Wyvern Young Women Scholarship
Applications are open to new female students for commencing in Years 5 – 11 2027 and 2028
Wyvern Young Women Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance and demonstrated excellence in one or more cocurricular areas such as art, music, performance or sport.
Short listed applicants will be interviewed by the Principal.
Successful applicants must also have a positive attitude toward learning and school life and be of respectful, resilient, and motivated character.
In addition to the online application, information as outlined below must be uploaded during the applications process.
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate;
- Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency (if the applicant or the applicant’s parents were not born in Australia);
- A copy of the student’s two most recent school reports;
- A copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN results (all available);
- Copies of any awards for academic achievement.
- Applicants will also be asked to outline how their achievements and attitude demonstrate the College's values of respect, kindness, courage, perseverance and excellence.
These scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion and offer a part tuition fee remission for the duration of the student’s education.
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Applicants must be a current Year 4 – 10 student for entry in 2027 or a current Year 3 - 9 student for entry in 2028.
- Applications open to new students only. Current Kingswood College students are not eligible to apply.
