Visual Arts Scholarship
For students commencing Years 5 to 11 in 2027 and 2028.
Visual Arts Scholarships at Kingswood College recognise students who demonstrate strong visual arts skills, creativity, and a desire to lead and inspire others in this area. These scholarships are designed for students who are motivated to develop their artistic practice and contribute positively to the creative culture of the College.
Scholarship applications close on Wednesday 2 September, 2026.
About the Visual Arts Scholarship
Visual Arts Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate artistic ability, creative thinking, and commitment to the visual arts. Successful applicants are expected to show initiative, originality, and a willingness to engage actively in the Kingswood College visual arts programme.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- Strong academic performance relative to year level
- Well developed learning skills and design curiosity
- Commitment to personal excellence and effort
- Capacity to contribute positively to the visual arts culture of the College.
Folio Interview Details
Applicants for a Visual Arts Scholarship are required to attend a folio interview to present their portfolio.
- Applicants will be provided with their folio interview time upon receipt of the completed application
- Attendance at the scheduled folio interview is required for all Visual Arts Scholarship applicants.
Folio Requirements
A folio of work may include:
- Artwork created during school years
- Drawing, painting, and sculptural works produced at home
- Sketchbooks containing student illustrations
- Photographs of the student’s artwork
- Other creative visual solutions.
How Applications are Assessed
Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their folio interview.
Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the Principal.
Required Application Documents
As part of the application process, applicants must upload the following:
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate
- Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency if applicable
- Copies of the student’s two most recent school reports
- A copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN results (if applicable).
Scholarship Value and Conditions
Visual Arts Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and offer a part tuition fee remission for the duration of the student’s education at Kingswood College.
Applicant Eligibility
- Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents
- Applicants must be a current Year 4 – 10 student for entry in 2027 or a current Year 3 - 9 student for entry in 2028.
- Applications are open to new and current Kingswood College students
By applying, students are confirming their intention to remain part of the Kingswood College community for the longer term.
