Academic Scholarship

For students commencing Years 3 to 11 in 2027 and Years 4 to 11 in 2028.

Academic Scholarships at Kingswood College recognise students who demonstrate strong academic ability, curiosity, and a commitment to learning. These scholarships are designed for students who are motivated to achieve their best and who will contribute positively to the intellectual life of the College.

Scholarship applications close on Wednesday 2 September, 2026.

About the Academic Scholarship

Academic Scholarships are awarded to students who show high academic potential and a strong approach to learning across core curriculum areas. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate consistent academic performance, a willingness to challenge themselves, and a positive attitude towards learning and personal growth within the Kingswood College community.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Applicants are expected to demonstrate:

  • Strong academic performance relative to year level
  • Well developed learning skills and academic curiosity
  • Commitment to personal excellence and effort
  • Capacity to contribute positively to the academic culture of the College.

How Applications Are Assessed

Academic Scholarships are awarded through a multi stage assessment process that includes:

  • Completion of the Academic Scholarship examination
  • Review of the submitted application and supporting documents
  • Shortlisting based on examination performance and academic profile
  • Interview with the Principal for shortlisted applicants.

The College does not provide scholarship examination results to applicants or parents.

Scholarship Test Details

Applicants for an Academic Scholarship are required to sit the Scholarship test.

  • Scholarship test date: Saturday 12 September, 2026
  • Test format: Written assessment aligned to age appropriate academic standards

Attendance at the scheduled test is required for all Academic Scholarship applicants.

Required Application Documents

As part of the application process, applicants must upload the following:

  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate
  • Proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency (if applicable)
  • The student’s two most recent school reports
  • The most recent NAPLAN results (if applicable)
  • Copies of any relevant academic awards or achievement certificates.

Scholarship Value and Conditions

Academic Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and offer a part tuition fee remission. The scholarship applies for the duration of the student’s education at Kingswood College, subject to ongoing commitment, engagement, and satisfactory academic progress.

Applicant Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents
  • Applicants must be a current Year 2 – 10 student for 2027 entry or a current Year 2 - 9 student for 2028 entry
  • Applications are open to new and current Kingswood College students.

By applying, students are confirming their intention to remain part of the Kingswood College community for the longer term.
