Bold Expectations

May 15, 2026 12:00 AM

Our strategic pillar of Bold Expectations challenges every student to strive for excellence, to embrace challenge, and to pursue their potential with courage and perseverance. This past fortnight has provided a timely illustration of what this looks like in action, as our students have achieved at the highest level both academically and in sport.

We are incredibly proud of our VCE Economics students who represented the College with distinction at the Fintona Economics Debate Competition. Competing against schools including Fintona Girls’ School, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, Caulfield Grammar School, Carey Baptist Grammar School, Siena College and Strathcona Girls Grammar, our teams demonstrated exceptional economic insight, critical thinking and composure. To have four students crowned the overall champions, alongside another team finishing equal third, is an extraordinary achievement and reflects not only their talent, but their commitment to preparation and excellence.

This same spirit of boldness was on display across our secondary sporting program in a remarkable finals week. Our Years 8–12 teams delivered outstanding performances, highlighted by Senior Boys Basketball and Hockey Premierships and an extraordinary clean sweep of five Grand Final victories. We also celebrate our Senior Girls Basketball team for their exceptional efforts, and our Softball Boys who share the Premiership after finishing top of the ladder. These outcomes are a testament to the perseverance, teamwork and courage that define Kingswood sport.

Together, these achievements speak to a culture where high expectations are not only set, but embraced. Whether in the debating arena or on the sporting field, or any other field of endeavour, our students continue to demonstrate what is possible when they are challenged, supported and inspired to aim high.
