By Chrissy Gamble, Principal

At Kingswood College, we recognise that child safety is a shared responsibility between the school, families, and the wider community.

Child Safe Standard 4 highlights the importance of open communication and collaboration, ensuring that families are actively involved in decisions that impact their children’s safety and wellbeing.

We are committed to creating opportunities for parents and carers to participate in discussions about child safety. By working together, we can strengthen our collective approach to safeguarding students and fostering a culture of care and respect. Transparency is a key aspect of maintaining trust and ensuring that families feel informed and involved.

On our website, we provide clear and accessible information about our child safety policies, school governance, and complaint-handling procedures. We encourage families to ask questions, seek clarification, and share feedback about our approach to child safety. In shaping our policies and practices, we actively seek input from the school community.

Parents and carers play an important role in reviewing and refining our child safety strategies to ensure they reflect the needs and expectations of those we serve. By working in partnership with families, we continue to build a safe and supportive environment for all students. We also recognise the importance of keeping families informed about key aspects of school operations and governance.

Our commitment to open communication ensures that parents and carers are aware of the measures in place to protect children, how concerns can be raised, and the steps we take to manage child safety risks. The involvement of families strengthens our ability to respond effectively to emerging challenges and reinforces our shared commitment to student wellbeing.

Every family has a role to play in maintaining a child-safe environment. We encourage ongoing conversations about child safety at home, participation in school discussion sessions, and engagement with our policies and procedures. We value the contributions of our families and remain committed to working together to uphold the highest standards of safety, care, and respect. If you have any questions or feedback, we encourage you to reach out.

Your voice is important, and together, we can ensure that Kingswood College remains a safe and supportive place for every child.
