Further Reflections on our Recent Survey

By Chrissy Gamble, Principal

Earlier in the year, Kingswood College commissioned an independent, confidential experience survey of all school parents from ELC to Year 12, students from Years 5 to 12 and all staff, as part of our commitment to continually monitor and improve the quality of education we provide to our students.

I want to take a moment to revisit those results, share our reflections, and thank you once again for your thoughtful contributions.

As shared previously, this survey forms a vital part of our planning, both operationally and strategically, as we work to ensure our students receive the very best educational experience possible.

Strong Results Across the Board

We were pleased to report that across 11 key areas of school life, two were rated very high and the remaining nine rated high, with an overall satisfaction score of 77% – a strong endorsement of our work together.

Meeting and Exceeding Expectations

Of particular note were the areas you identified as most important when choosing Kingswood College for your family. The majority of parents reported that their expectations had been met or exceeded in all five of these areas:

  • 88% – Quality of teaching
  • 86% – Student wellbeing and a safe, caring environment
  • 95% – Balanced education
  • 86% – College values
  • 79% – Quality education at a reasonable expense

These figures are both affirming and motivating and this is a reflection of the daily commitment from our staff and the strong partnership we share with you, our families.

What You Told Us Matters Most

Beyond the numbers, your open-ended feedback offered a rich picture of what makes Kingswood College special in your eyes. Parents spoke warmly about:

  • The quality and care of our teachers
  • The strong sense of community and belonging
  • The focus on each child’s growth and individuality
  • The way wellbeing and academic challenge go hand-in-hand
  • The joy and confidence their children feel at school

One parent captured it beautifully:

“My children are happy and settled at the school and doing well both academically and from a wellbeing perspective.”

Next Steps – Listening and Acting

While we celebrate these results, we also remain focused on continuous improvement. Your feedback has helped us identify areas where we can do better, including strengthening academic excellence and enhancing elements of our wellbeing program.  These are already being addressed through current strategic planning and professional learning.

Thank you once again for your honest and thoughtful input. The trust you place in us, and the partnership we share, is at the heart of everything we do.
