Welcome Back to Term 2!
I hope the break provided an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. It has been wonderful to see the campus come alive again with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of purpose as we begin another busy and exciting term together.
We began the term with great excitement. Already, our Year 6 students have embarked on their Canberra trip, an important experience that brings their learning to life and fosters independence and connection. Term 2 is always rich with opportunity, and this year is no exception. Our calendar is filled with an abundance of events that reflect the breadth of life at the College. In the coming weeks, we look forward to a vast range of experiences. Our VCE Theatre Studies Performance Evening and the Secondary Production will showcase the creativity and dedication of our students, while events such as the Junior School Soiree and Music Recital Evening highlight the quality of our performing arts program. Sport continues to be a major focus, with EISM semi-finals, grand finals, and divisional athletics providing opportunities for students to demonstrate teamwork, resilience, and school spirit. We wish all competitors the very best.
Community events are also a highlight this term. Our Mother’s Day Breakfast will offer a wonderful opportunity to connect, while Kingswood Talks featuring Andrew Fuller promises valuable insights for families. We also look forward to the PFA AGM and the ever-popular Trivia Night later in the term. Learning beyond the classroom remains a key focus. Experiences such as City Cite for our senior students, excursions, and the Junior School Intensive Swimming Program all contribute to a rich and engaging educational journey. Our VET Cato Restaurant events continue to provide real-world learning opportunities, and we are excited to see these in action.
As the term progresses, we also acknowledge important moments of reflection and recognition, including our ANZAC Services and National Sorry Day. These occasions are vital in helping our students develop understanding, respect, and a sense of responsibility as global citizens. Toward the end of term, our Year 10 and 11 students will undertake their exams, an important milestone in their learning journey. We wish them every success as they prepare. Finally, we will conclude the term with our HPA performances in Brim Hall, a fitting celebration of student talent and commitment, before finishing on Friday 26 June.
Term 2 is always a vibrant and productive time, and I encourage all students to embrace the many opportunities available, challenge themselves, and remain engaged in all aspects of school life.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you and celebrating the many achievements that will no doubt unfold in the weeks ahead.
