Welcome to Semester 2

Jul 20, 2026 12:00 AM

Welcome back to Semester 2! I hope the break provided an opportunity for you all to rest, reconnect and return refreshed for what promises to be another exciting and rewarding term at our wonderful school.

Semester 2 is always one of my favourite times of the year. It is a semester filled with opportunity and a chance to build on the foundations established during the first half of the year, embrace new challenges and celebrate the many extraordinary achievements of our students.

The weeks ahead are packed with experiences that reflect the breadth of a Kingswood education. Our senior students commence their Unit 2 studies, while the Secondary Careers and Subject Expo will help our students thoughtfully consider their future pathways. Across the College, our students will engage in inspiring learning experiences including National Science Week, Book Week, House Cross Country, House Athletics, debating, chess, music performances, productions and sporting competitions, to name but a few!

We also look forward to welcoming renowned educational researcher John Hattie to Kingswood Talks, celebrating our Golden Wyvernians, reconnecting with alumni, hosting prospective families through our many tours and information evenings, and enjoying special community events including our annual Father's Day Breakfast and Coffee Morning.

Our Year 9 students will immerse themselves in Service Week, while our Year 10 students will head away on camp. These experiences, alongside the many performances, excursions and celebrations throughout the term, provide opportunities for every student to discover new strengths and create lasting memories.

As always, none of this would be possible without the extraordinary commitment of our staff, the support of our families and the enthusiasm of our students. Together, we continue to create a learning community where young people are encouraged to embolden hearts, inspire minds and be the very best version of themselves.

I encourage everyone to embrace all that Semester 2 has to offer. Whether it is trying something new, supporting a friend, attending a community event or striving for a personal best, every experience contributes to the vibrant life of our College. I wish you all a wonderful start to the semester and look forward to sharing many joyful moments with you over the weeks ahead.
